Yule Feast & Celebration: Pray Attend!

Baron Ivon and Baroness Hlutwige and the Barony of Stromgard invite friends, family and neighbors all to join them and Their Royal Majesties in celebration. And by join, we mean participate.

This is not a spectator event. It's the Society for Creative Anachronism. Recreating History and Courtesty is what we do, so it's more Medieval Re-enactment meets Social. If you are not currently a member of SCA or the Barony of Stromgard, please notify the Chatelaine (stromgardchatelaine@gmail.com) so we can ensure you will have what you need (medieval clothing, know what to bring, how to participate, etc.) so everyone can enjoy themselves at this Joyous Event. As is the case in Yules Past, we must know ahead of time how many to expect at this event, so please RSVP.

Family Activities - CHILDREN'S BARDIC (jokes & stuff written down, so don't worry if you aren't prepared - come & be the STAR you ARE); FACE PAINTING (by the talented Marisol); FAMILY SIEGE WEAPONS CHALLENGE (make & bring, show & tell); CLAY NAZAR BEADMAKING (will post an image below - to make & bake at Yule); VIKING KLUB GAME (weather permitting); COOKIE DECORATING; PAPER SNOWFLAKE MAKING. Father Christmas WILL be in attendance, so MAKE SURE TO LET THE CHATELAINE OR EVENT STEWARD KNOW WELL BEFORE THE 17TH IF YOUR CHILD 12 OR YOUNGER WILL BE ATTENDING THIS EVENT.

Adult Activities:. Things like dancing, music, crafting, a variety of games, classes, martial contests, court, Her Excellency Stromgard's Ornament Exchange Contest, Newcomer Persona Challenge and more being added. https://www.facebook.com/events/1205057976216982/

Feast: We ask that you bring a potluck contribution large enough to feed 10 other people, per person in your party. As an example, a family of four with modern last name in the M-S division, might bring a large casserole. The Barony will be providing turkey and bread (please don't bring bread as your contribution). Contributions divided by modern last name: A-F: Dessert or Fruit; G-L: Salad or Cheese; M-S: Side Dish or Vegetable; T-Z: Main Dish (Turkey & Bread are being provided)

Each person brings his or her own things to eat off of and eat with (eating utensils, bowls, plates, linens) but there will only be an area for everyone to scrape their feast dishes - no place for washing so, please bring a basket or something to carry your dirty dishes home in.

Volunteers always needed. Ask how you can help, either before or during the event. Many hands make light work. Show some love to the hard-working crew who coordinate the event some love by pitching in to help, so they have a few moments to enjoy the festivities as well.
