This is not some hokey Ren Faire (not that there's anything wrong with that....) But THIS EVENT IS SO MUCH MORE! Step back in time for a day of revels at the Faire In The Grove! Join McMenamins Grand Lodge, and The Barony of Dragon’s Mist for Arts & Science Demonstrations, a Rapier Tournament and a Heavy Tournament, each with prizes, as well as Thrown Weapons Demonstrations. In addition, there will be live Entertainment on Stage all day long. Hosted on the vast front lawn of the Grand Lodge, come and be transported back to Fairegrove, a Medieval village. Enjoy seeing and learning some of the history behind life in the Middle Ages and into the Renaissance. In addition to all of the Demonstrations, there will be 30 different Merchants, and Food and Drink provided by McMenamins. The public is invited to participate with The Barony of Dragon’s Mist. History buffs, students of Medieval studies and guests of McMenamins Grand Lodge are welcome to join us for fun and interesting events, entertainment and displays at this Demonstration Event for the Society for Creative Anachronism. *EXCITING NEW LOCATION* The Barony of Stromgard invites you to the Eleventh Annual Grand Thing. This event focuses on Norse and Irish traditions of the Viking era, though all cultures and interests are welcome! Armored Combat, Rapier Combat, Archery and Thrown Weapons, Games, Classes and a Grand Feast are some of the highlights of the event. The “Grand Thing” will take place Saturday evening after the feast – Based on the period Norse tradition when the community would come together to settle issues of law. All are welcome to come witness the review of previous laws and see a new law accepted. Don’t miss the Stormrider Tournament that will decide who becomes Stromgards Equestrian Champion!
